"One time, I was at this party... and I was sitting on the couch with Amanda McKinney. She was just sitting there, looking beautiful. So, I lean in to kiss her, and I realize I have gum in my mouth. So, I turn to spit it out and put it in a paper cup. I turn back, and Amanda McKinney throws up all over herself. I knew the moment it happened, it was a miracle. I could have been kissing her when she threw up. It would have scarred me for life. I may never have recovered."
This seems to be one of Shyamalan's more polarizing films. Some people really like it while others think it was when M. Night Shyamalan started to go downhill. After finally seeing it I thought this was a very solid sci-fi thriller type of movie. It was a very chilling experience with an interesting scenario, very good acting especially from the likes of Mel Gibson before he went crazy, Joaquin Phoenix and Abagail Breslin who delivers an excellent performance especially considering how old she was at the time and it was a very well-done movie from start to finish... well, almost. I already knew about the twist ending years before seeing this movie and yeah it was pretty stupid and pretty anti-climactic. This was around the time when M. Night Shyamalan just abused the fuck out of twist endings because they worked so well in his first two films, but after a while they started to get formulaic and felt like he was just reusing twist endings from his previous efforts and tweaked them just a little bit. Still, it's a very solid film even if the twist ending is dumb.

"I'm going to retire, withdraw from public life, and become a hermit crab."
Once upon a time I first watched a movie called Zoolander when I was 8 and I liked it, but as time went on I barely remembered what happened in it. I even questioned if I actually watched the whole thing or not because I had such a small attention span at that age. In March of 2015 Zoolander 2 was officially announced at a fashion show after rumors of a Zoolander sequel have been circulating the internet for years. I watched the original Zoolander in January of this year since the sequel was coming out the following month and I thought it was hilarious and it felt new to me and was sure at this point that it was a first-time viewing. Then when Zoolander 2 came out the reviews were overwhelmingly negative and I was thinking to myself "It can't be that bad. After all the trailer looked funny."
How very wrong I was as this movie was horrendous and it reminded me that just because a trailer makes a movie look funny doesn't mean it will be funny. Sometimes jokes are just funny in the trailers and won't be funny in the actual movie and this is the case here. Where do I begin? This movie was so unfunny that I was in a state of shock with terrible joke after terrible joke that it makes me wonder if I'll ever laugh again. I knew this movie was in trouble when this movie started off with Justin Bieber being chased by people on motorcycles that want to kill him. I mean, I knew he would be in this movie because of the trailers, but the fact that this is the first scene was a very bad sign.
It all goes downhill from there and the movie becomes only more and more painful to watch. The characters from the first Zoolander were very unlikeable as well as they went from being models who were stupid, but likeable and funny as well to their stupidity being cranked up to 11 and being as annoying as possible. This movie also tries way to hard to be hip with having jokes about selfies and adding more cameos including many that have already faded away from relevancy except that already makes this movie dated from the day it was released while the original Zoolander is timeless.
You know what this sequel is starting to remind me of? Anchorman 2 and while watching it I was contemplating if this was worse or not and when it was over I decided that yes, Zoolander 2 is worse than Anchorman 2. Even though Anchorman 2 was more concerned about cramming in as many jokes as possible instead of taking the time to figure out what made the first one funny and the fact that none of the jokes made me laugh at all, but at least Anchorman 2 had jokes and at least it was trying to be funny. I'll admit that this movie did at least have one part that I thought was kind of funny and that was Susan Boyle's cameo, but even that's pretty sad when something like that is the only funny part of this shit.
Zoolander 2 was a mistake. Zoolander 2 was an abortion. Zoolander 2 was a mistake that could've been prevented if it just used protection instead of pulling out. Fuck Zoolander 2 and fuck comedy sequels that sounded good on paper, but turned out to be complete disasters!
